Hola from San Antonio

That means Hello for those non mexican readers of the blog :)

I normally don't post about my trips, but these videos are too freaking funny! I went down to the Riverwalk tonight for dinner, and they were letting us throw tortilla's down to the ducks. One duck would grab the tortilla, then swim like a mad man (or mad duck) to try and avoid getting it stolen. Watch the videos and keep your eye on the tortilla. Pretty freaking funny!

Also a video of birds that decided to try and help me finish my dinner (I was done by this point) and a few pics from along the Riverwalk.

Oh... and how sad is it that I saw this sign for gas prices and thought "Wow, i have to take a picture of that"... its sad because it is the LOWEST price I have seen in AGES! I used to take pictures like this of HIGH prices, but this is a LOW price. Stupid gas prices!

Guess who is finally walking?

Our little Kyson finally decided that he wanted to walk. He started crawling before he was even six months so we thought for sure he would walk early. Reality was he had not need to. Dawson would carry him everywhere. While we were in Hawaii Kyson learned how to go down the stairs. Dawson was gone for 1 1/2 weeks and Kyson had no one to carry him so he decided it was time. He went from crawling to walking everywhere in about two weeks. It is crazy how fast they learn things. Now he thinks he has to try and walk downstairs too. He has fallen down them a couple times already. I love to watch babies walk. They are such little people and they always look so funny. So enjoy our cute video of our big boy. He is so excited.

It's about time!

Okay so I have been so crazy busy that I have not had time to do my kids birthday pictures. I finally got around to doing it. I went down to Kiddie Kandids and had my friend Deanna do them. The kids did so good. I was shocked. They have been such stinkers lately taking pictures. That is part of my procrastination problem. I love how they turned out though. I love my kids and think they are seriously the cutest. Thanks Deanna for doing such a great job and letting me help out too. I seriously miss doing photography. Someday I hope I have more time and can start doing it again.

Dawson's 1st day of school

Dawson started first grade today. I can't even believe it. He is growing too fast. He was so excited. He got right up and got ready really good. I was shocked cause school starts at 8:00 and he is not a morning person. He gets to walk to school this year with his cousins and neighbors. I was so excited for school to be back in. Dawson gets so bored being home all the time. He enjoys learning and loves to see friends. He is such a little smarty and does so well in school. I love watching Dawson learn new things. He has such a zest for life. I am sure I will be sad when he is all grown up but I am enjoying every moment.

Camping with the Family

So this last weekend we had a big family campout with all of my family. It was so fun. I headed down Friday to Beaver Mountain with the kids. Jason had a funeral to attend so he came down Saturday afternoon. There were 25 kids up there and 15 adults. It was so nice up Beaver Mountain and there were lots of trails for the kids to play on with the four-wheelers. There was however some guy that complained about kids riding four-wheelers and kicking up dirt. Well it is the mountains. If you don't like dirt go to the marriott.
My sisters planned awesome meals while we were up there. They really worked hard pulling it all together. The first night me and the kids slept in my sister's motor home but the second night we all slept out in the tent. It was super fun! The kids all really had a good time. All the grandkids get along so well. I was shocked! I can't wait to go camping again next year.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our Five year anniversary. I seriously can't even believe it. Unfortunately we have a family reunion that I am leaving to go to so we don't get to really go out on a date or anything.
Our wedding day was so perfect. Well everything but having to be at the Temple by 6:00 in the morning. I had to get my hair done at 3:00 in the morning. I was so glad that Amy was willing to get up so early for me. After the Temple we had a wonderful luncheon at Little America. That night our reception was held at my Mom's church building and Kendalls catering did such a awesome job. There was dancing and wonderful food. It was such a wonderful day and I still wouldn't change anything about our wedding. It was everything we wanted. Dawson was 15mths old when Jason and I got married and I remember him just going around the reception dancing and showing everyone how cute he was.
Marriage has definitely been a long rough road for us. Those around us know. But I am so glad that we have worked through it and continue working on it. I look forward to continuing to spend our lives together. Happy Anniversary Jason! I love you!

Tiny Dancer!

So a few weeks ago Kennidee tried out for a dance company here in American Fork. She had tried out last year but they were only going to take the 4 year olds so she did not make it. In July she went to a dance clinic and she did so good. It was so fun to watch her. So then the tryouts were on August 4 and I found out today that she made it. Kennidee is so excited. She is so shy but she has wanted to dance so much that I think it is going to be very good for her. Even with all the Moms watching she got up and sang in the Microphone and did the dance routine. I am a loser and forgot my camera so I dont have pictures. But there will be alot more photo moments I am sure. We are so proud of Kennidee.

It was finally that time!

So it was finally time for Kyson to get his 1st "official" haircut. He has such thin hair that I have been putting it off for as long as I could. Finally I decided I was going to give in and get it done. I am planning on taking the kids for pictures and didn't think that having his hair 2 inches off the top of his head was going to be very cute. Dawson needed a haircut as well so we headed over to sportsclips. Kyson was not very excited about this idea. He freaked the whole time. I tried giving him a sucker and that wasn't good enough so we tried his bottle with no luck. We are glad it is done. It turned out cute and spikes up way cute now.

This was an after picture. However he still would not cooperate very well so it was the best we could get.

Careful not to wake the Monster!

Okay so I have a really bad habit of sleeping in late. Usually my kids sleep in as well but the last few weeks Kennidee has decided that when Jason goes to work that it is time for her to get up as well. My kids have been trained well enough to know that if Mom gets woke up early then she is VERY, VERY onry (who would have ever thought). So every morning when she wakes up then Jason usually gets her settled in the living room watching cartoons and then around 9:00 (yes I said 9:00) she will come in and tell me that Kyson wants out of his bed. I think that is her way of getting him in trouble or maybe she just knows that I don't get as frustrated with him cause he doesn't know any better. So the other morning she woke up and went potty and Jason told her to flush the toilet. Well she whispers to Jason "We can't flush it we don't want to wake up Mommy." Most mornings when I get up she will have a few toys in the living room and playing to keep herself entertained. However this morning was different. This was what I woke up to this morning.

Apparently she was having a party with all of her dolls on the couches. They were all watching cartoons. I hope they enjoyed the show.

Rise & Shout!!!

So tonight was the annual BYU meet the team night. Dawson has gone to this the last several years, and Kennidee went last year and now tonight. Tonight the place was PACKED! I guess that is what 2 MWC titles in a row and a top 20 ranking will do! They ran out of posters, but we had Dawson's mini helmet to get some of the stars to sign.

They took time to play soccer with the soccer team.

To practice tackling (or is that hugging in Kennidee's case? LOL)

They even took time to give each other a big hug!

Then they ran through the obstacles

Dawson got Fui to sign his helmet

Kennidee wanted to be in a picture with Fui, but only if Daddy would be in it too

Dawson with Austin Collie (4th and 18 anyone??)

Dawson with O'Neill Chambers (Remember that name... with the word TOUCHDOWN before it)

Dawson with Gabe Reid, former BYU player now with the Chicago Bears

Kennidee wanted a picture with the Cheerleaders, but made me be in it (Thats my story and i'm sticking to it)

Dawson getting Cosmo to sign his poster

Calling all Twilight fans!

The day finally arrived for the anxiously awaited release of Breaking Dawn! I had preordered my book through Barnes and Noble to pick up at midnight. My Niece Brianna and I went out at about 9:00 and met up with my friend Staci at West Jordan Barnes and Noble. There were so many people there. It was crazy. The were doing a best and worst bridesmaids dress contest so most people were dressed up. The had lots of games like Bouquet toss, hot potato with a bouquet, Twilight bingo and who could unwrap starbust first with their mouth. So we went around and played some games and visited. At 11:00 the kicked everyone outside so they could get ready for the midnight sale. We had a super fun time meeting people and watching all the crazy Twilight Fans! I got my book just after 1:00 and then we headed home. We had so much fun and it was fun to hang out with Staci too. Hopefully I can find the time (without my house completely falling apart) to get the whole thing finished quick. I am so excited. Now we can start the countdown for the movie.

How do you entertain a 14 month old at church?

So Kyson is becoming very difficult to communicate with... he knows what he wants and does not know how to tell us, so it results in him yelling at us quite a bit these days! Church is certainly fun, because he is SO BUSY! (4 more months until nursery!)

Well today in Sunday School, he discovered a pack of 4 crayons (no clue where they came from), and he was set! He was entertained with these things for over an hour! He would sit and try and put them in the box, it was so fascinating sitting there watching his little brain try to figure this out. He would get 2 or 3 of them in the box, then as room would run out, he would get frustrated and shake the box and yell, thus dumping the rest out, then he would start all over again.

We gave him the crayons at home and got a video. So for those of you trying to figure out how to entertain your little one... try a small box of crayons, it may work miracles!

Out with the old... in with the older

So I've wanted a certain car for the past 2 years. The local lot where we got the Toyota got one in over the weekend. I went and test drove it on Saturday and fell in love with it. He had a few small dents to pop out, needed to get a mechanic to inspect it, and get a new windshield, so I told him to hold it for me. So I went to Milwaukee on Sunday and got back at 4:45 on Wednesday. I hauled butt down to Lehi to get there before the lot closed. He told me he had held it, but could have sold it 6 times during the week, everyone wanted my car! Well, I ended up buying it.

So this week I said goodbye to my 06 Hyundai (which I never really liked much, and Kacy hated, except for the lingering scent of Mary Jane from the prior owner that we could never get rid of)

And let me introduce you to this beauty! I've had my eyes on one of these for so long! It is freaking sweet!

OK JUST KIDDING! I had to post something funny, because my mother found out we bought a new car and was asking about it 18 hours after we bought it. Gotta love the family gossip mill! My cousin Rusty knew I bought it because I was texting him, he tells his wife, she sees my sister's car at her mother in law's swimming pool, stops and tells her, and within 18 hours the wild fire has spread.

Anyhow, here's the real car. It's a 2004 Mazda 6. I've been wanting one of these for the past 2 years, but they were so new that they weren't in my price range. Got a great deal on it and Steve @ Dealerworld (we'll post about how cool he and his company are in a later post) he gave us a sweet deal on our trade in. So it's an older car, but I like it much more! It will fit all our kids in the back (the Hyundai wouldnt fit 2 boosters and a car seat). It should get close to the same gas mileage as the Hyundai. LOVE IT! Thanks to my wonderful wife for letting me buy it!
