Mickey and Friends Live

A few months ago I purchased tickets to take Kyson and Kennidee to Mickey and friends. Due to an accident we got there late. It was probably good cause I really don't think Kyson would have lasted for the whole time. But the kids did enjoy what they saw. We took trax downtown and Kyson thought that was really cool to watch out the window. Our seats were floor seats but the way the stage was set up made it a little difficult to see the whole stage. It was still fun though.

Family Fun Night!

So we decided for family night we were going to take the kids to classic skating. My friend had been taking her kids and kept talking about how fun it was. Our friends Mo and Ray came with their kids as well. The best part about it was that the kids can take their scooters. I had not been skating in forever so I was a little nervous. But the kids had a blast. We are definitely taking them again sometime.

Draper Temple Open House

So last night we were able to go to the Draper Temple Open House. We had requested tickets a few weeks ago and we had my sister and her family and a few of our friends and their families with us. I have gone to the Temple Open houses before but it was different this time cause we were able to take our kids. We did leave Kyson home with a sitter so that we didn't have him thinking that he needed to run around. It was such a neat experience being able to take the kids and being able to explain the importance and purpose of each room. There is always such a strong feeling of peace as well as the spirit when attending the Temple. The kids were so good and had lots of questions. Dawson was amazed at all the beautiful light fixtures. He absolutely loved the Sealing rooms as well as the Celestial room. He thought that being able to look through the mirrors and seeing forever was especially cool.I hope that the kids will always remember the way that they felt in the Temple yesterday. We are hoping that someday soon Dawson is able to go to the Temple and be sealed to our family. He really wants to and prays every night that he is able too.
If you have not yet had the chance to go to the open house I suggest requesting tickets asap HERE. I was amazed at the organization with all the people that were going. They have everyone park at different local Churches and bus you to the Temple grounds. After the Temple tour they have a beautiful reception area set up at the Church next door with cookies and waters for all the guest. They have it decorated beautifully with pictures of all the Temples around the world. It was so great and I hope you all get the chance to go.

Our Family at the reception after. No Dawsons tie isn't too short. He had untucked his shirt and looks like a goofball.

Walking with Dinosaurs!

So on Wednesday Dawson and Jason were able to go to Walking with Dinosaurs at the ESA. We had purchased the tickets a few months ago and so this day was long awaited. Good thing Dawson got his teeth done yesterday or he may not have been able to go. So the boys headed up to Five Guys burger and then jumped on trax and were on their way. They had such a good time. Dawson was very excited to come home and tell me all about the Dinosaur poop. Jason is such a great Dad and I am glad that the kids get to spend so much quality time doing things together doing such fun things.

A trip to the Dentist

So on Tuesday Dawson had to go and get two small cavities filled and two sealants done. The cavities were from last year that we never had filled. His last cleaning was excellent minus those two from before. He knew that we were going and was very nervous. When we got there he was even more nervous. So we got called back and she started to do the laughing gas and he freaked out. He put it on for a few minutes and then started panicking. We told him that he could do it without that but it would make him feel better with the gas. Well he didn't want to do it so she started to get the needle ready for the numbing and he freaked out and jumped out of the chair. After a phone call to Dad and some serious threatening with the consequences if he chose to not do it we finally got him to cooperate. It was amazing cause once he calmed down and let the Hygienist do what needed to be done he was a whole different kid. He said that none of it even hurt. Dad was so happy cause they were still able to go to the Walking with Dinosaurs the next day. I had to take a picture of him to send to Dad so I figured I would post it. Hopefully he remembers how scared he was and be better at brushing his teeth.

Jazz Game

So on Monday my brother Ronnie called and said that he had tickets to the Jazz game but wasn't going to be able to make it. Well the big problem was that the tickets were in St. George with him. So after a million phone calls and several hours we were able to get the tickets reprinted in Salt Lake and put on will call for Us to us use. So I decided that it would be fun for Dawson and Jason to have a father/son night out. Well these tickets were not just ordinary tickets. They were VIP tickets. They were row 2 at one of the baskets. Also before the game started they got to go and have a big catered dinner at the ESA with all the players families and a bunch of other important people. Then at half time they were able to go back and get nachos and popcorn in the VIP room as well. They had so much fun. Dawson was so excited and best of all the Jazz won. Thank you so much Ronnie for thinking of us and giving your tickets to Jason and Dawson. This was definitely a once in a lifetime chance for them.

Happy New Year!

Okay so I am super late on this post. For New Years Eve this year we went to Tucanos for dinner with our friends Jessica and Jake. After that we had a few more friends join us at the house for a night of Wii Fit, Guitar Hero World Tour and lots of yummy munchies. We had a super fun night. The kids just ran around downstairs playing while we "adults" hung out upstairs. We did not do anything exciting at midnight cause we were too involved in our games. All in all it was a great night. Enjoy the pictures! Excuse some of them cause Kennidee was our photographer for most of the night.

Tyler as he was being a party pooper and leaving!

Christmas 2008

We had such a great Christmas! The kids woke up around 8:30 and so it was nice. We were able to sleep in a little bit. Dawson woke up first and came and snooped before waking us up. He then woke up Kennidee and informed her what was in her stocking. He was so excited. We had the kids open their "Santa" gifts first then we had them open the gifts from us. Dawson was most excited about his Nintendo DS and Kennidee was most excited for her Pink Ipod. Yes she got an Ipod and she is four. What are you suppose to do when that is the only thing they are asking for. Kyson got a big wheel motorcycle and he played on that the whole time while Kennidee and Dawson opened theirs. Then we let him rip into his. It was kind of nice cause then we got to watch the kids be all excited about what they got. After the kids were done Jason and I exchanged gifts. Jason spoiled me again this year. I was so excited. I got him alot of things he wanted as well. Kyson hadn't been feeling too well so we stayed home all day. Plus the weather was bad. We only had Dawson til 1:00 on Christmas so Jason's parents came down at noon to see the kids and bring them gifts. We had invited Jason's grandparents over for a prime rib dinner and they were not going to make it so Jason drove up and got them in four wheel drive. So we had a wonderful dinner with Nana and Forrest, My Mom and our family. It was very nice. I love Christmas and was sad to see it over with. I hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas as well.

Christmas Morning, Kyson couldn't wait to get to his bike.

Kyson was not all that excited. But he was still fun
