I posted this last year, but the blog was fairly new.... so for those that never saw it, here you go.... LOVE YOU KACY! Thanks for everything you do! I am grateful to have you in my life! XOXOXOXOXO
So here's the story... 6 years ago in February we had started dating again (after I scared her away the first time). While we were not dating, I had decided I was going on a single's cruise in May. Well by the time the cruise came around, we were dating again and had decided that we were going to get married.
We had gone out ring shopping and found one. So while I'm en route to Houston, Kacy calls and says that the guy at the other store will give us a better deal with the same Diamond we had picked out. So the jeweler calls me and we get it financed. So while I'm on the cruise, I'm trying to figure out a way to propose to her. I thought about spelling out "will you marry me" on the beach and taking pictures, but that wasn't working too well.
So we thought of taking this picture, then on Cozumel I bought a frame to put the picture in.
When I got back to SLC, I told Kacy that I called the jeweler and the ring would not be ready until the next day. Meanwhile I ran to the mall and picked up the ring, then got the photo printed out, I put it in the frame and wrapped it back up in the newspaper they wrapped it with in Mexico.
I headed to Kacy's apartment and gave her the picture, then got the ring out, got down on one knee and proposed (while little Dawson was climbing all over me as he was excited to see me again).
Long story short... she said YES!

Easter 2009
Since we were in St George for Easter this year we had to do things a little different then usual. The kids got their Easter outfits the week prior and got to wear them to church then. They still got their baskets at Kori's house. When we realized that we were going to go down over Easter and that Spring Break was that week as well then we decided to surprise the kids with a Disneyland trip. The kids had no idea. They did however know that Kori and Kim's families were both going. They were not really too jealous cause they know they get to go to Hawaii this summer. But on Saturday Kennidee started telling Kim that her Dad said she could go with them. Later that evening she told Jason that I told her she could go and then she told me that Kim said she could go. So Easter morning they got their baskets and so I told them we had one more surprise but that they had to trade their baskets for the other surprise. Kennidee slowly folded up her swimsuit, got her webkin and her candy and put it back in the basket and handed it over to me. Dawson on the other hand did not think that was fair and finally gave it to me and said "I know you are going to give it back". Well does he know me or what? So after they gave us their baskets we handed them an envelope with 60$ from the Grandma Rinnie and Papa for Easter and then a Disneyland ticket. It took them a minute to realize what that meant. Once they realized though they were super excited and Kennidee had to run to show her Aunt Kim that she really got to go now.

Since there were so many cousins down there that weekend we planned a breakfast with 4 of the 6 siblings and their families followed by a Easter Egg Hunt with the cousins. It was so fun and the kids had a blast. After all the fun we loaded up our cars and headed out for our 9 hour drive to Disneyland. Yes 9 Hours!!! I will post the Disneyland trip later.
13 or the 28 Grandkids in our family! Crazy I know.

Easter Egg Hunt @ Staheli Farms
So for Easter weekend we were going to be in St George for our nephew Chris' baptism, and our other nephew Zach was getting his Eagle Scout. We headed down Friday afternoon, and found out that Kori's husband Randi's family has a huge easter lunch and easter egg hunt at their farm the Saturday before Easter.
At the farm they had some baby goats, Kyson absolutely loved the goats. Here's a picture of him trying to kiss one of the goats, and giving a hug to another one.

Look at the friend Dawson found. Actually someone found him in the field and gave him to Dawson. You'll notice the crocodile tears on Dawson's face... he was having a bad day. Every kid had an egg in the field with their name on it with $1 in it, well apparently there was another Dawson there and that Dawson took 2 eggs, because our Dawson's was gone. Then he sees a kid holding this frog and thinks that it was in an egg and he is mad because he wants a frog... well the other little boy gave the frog to Dawson, so we had to tell him that he was not going to keep the frog... he was NOT happy about this. But as he (almost) always does, he got over it.
Anyways, the kids had a great time. Thanks to the Staheli family for having such a fun Easter party!

Pain is gone! Well mostly!
So on Wednesday I had to finally go to have the lithotripsy for my Kidney stone friends. I had to get up at 4:30 to be there by 5:30. I was really nervous. Jason was super nervous too! When they took me back they did a xray to see where the stone was and it had moved down the Ureter alot more then the doctor ever thought would happen. That was what was causing so much pain. It was ripping pretty bad. However they were able to successfully blast it and I started passing pieces immediately. The first day I felt pretty good but Thursday I was pretty sore and felt as if someone took a bat to my side and smacked me really hard. The doctor said to plan on being sore for a while. But I was just glad to finally have it over with. I woke up really happy from the procedure and was making Jason take pictures. However I don't remember. That night my wonderful neighbor brought us over dinner even though I had told her I was okay. We were super grateful for her thoughtfulness and it worked great for Thursday when I really did not feel okay. Thanks to all of our friends and family for all your help with the kids and all your phone calls and thoughtfulness.
Me just before they took me back for surgery. I was seriously looking so hot in that hat!
Me right after they brought me out. I don't remember telling Jason to take this but apparently I kept telling him over and over to take a picture. I think it is hilarious!
This was me checking in with My Mom or Kennidee I can't remember. But I can't be away from my phone too long.

Happy Birthday to my Dawson!
So my little Dawson just turned 7 years old on Saturday April 4th. I can't believe how time flies. It seriously seems like I just had him. He is such a sweet boy and we are so glad to have him in our family. Since he gets to have a big party when he turns 8 we did not have friend party just a family one. On his Birthday though we took him to dinner. He chose to go to Tucanos. We just went with the family and Grandma Lourenco. On Sunday we had Cake and Ice Cream and then Monday Nana and Grandpa Forrest came down and took us to Brick Oven. So Dawson got to celebrate his birthday for 3 days. What a lucky boy. He got a new bike and some DS games and a few other things. Even though he did not get his pet hamster that he wanted I think he still had a pretty good day.

Pain, Pain Go away and don't come back forever!!
So back in December I had a fun trip to the ER and found out that I had several kidney stones and was told to follow up with the Dr. Well I never followed up cause I felt okay even though I did not know if I had ever passed them. Off and on for the last few months I have had pains here and there in my kidney area and just ignored it. Well Jason had left for work to Alaska and I really didn't want him to go. I kept hoping all week that his flight would get cancelled. So Jason calls me at 730 and tells me that his flight from Seattle to Alaska was canceled and he would probably be heading back home on Wednesday. I was so excited!!! So that night I started cramping really bad and couldn't sleep most of the night. After I got Dawson off to school I decided that I should probably go to the hospital cause I could tell that my Kidneys were acting up. Luckily my neighbor Deana was a life saver and came and sat with Kennidee and Kyson while Kim dropped me off at the ER on her way to work. So I checked myself in and left a message for Jason. However being that it was April fools I was afraid he was not going to believe me. So I made sure that I told him several times on voicemail and text that this was NOT an April fools joke. So they took me back and I would say my pain level was only about a 7 or 8 at that time. Well they gave me some pain meds and some phenegran for nausea and then sent me to have a CT scan. Well I started having a bad reaction from the Phenegran and was having a major panic attack and my legs were so restless and achy that I couldn't hold still. The lady doing the CT scan was getting mad at me for moving and I was getting so claustrophobic that I started freaking out on her. So then when I got back to my room they were giving me stuff to try and reverse the reaction that I was having and before I knew it I was so knocked out that I did not even remember Jason getting there. At some point during all this I was calling my Mom from my phone and just sitting there, I also went into the bathroom to go potty and then just sat on the floor til the nurse knocked to see if I was okay. I was so doped up that I crashed finally and did not wake up til 5 in the evening and I don't remember anything in between. They ended up admitting me with hopes that they were going to be able to do lithotripsy that day or first thing in the Morning cause the Kidney stone had grown into a very large stone and was stuck in the Ureter are. So they kept me just to find out later that they won't have a machine to do the surgery til next week. So they sent me home Thursday morning and I was feeling great all day Thursday and did not even have to take any meds. Well Friday the Stone decided it wanted to try and move again and I took two, yes two Lortabs and it didn't even touch the pain. I was so nauseous again and was definitely above a 10 this time on the pain scale. So my Mom took me up to the hospital again where the doctor ordered stronger pain meds be given through a shot. Well they finally worked and I felt soooo much better. Apparently even if I feel okay I need to keep on top of the pain meds until they blow this thing up. So I feel like I have been popping pills all day to keep myself able to function and keep the pain under control. I go in Wednesday for the lithotripsy. I hope I survive til then. Here are some pictures Jason took of me in the hospital just to prove to everyone that this was not just a bad April Fools Joke.

Just a piece of advice for anyone ho has kidney stone problems. GET THEM TAKEN CARE OF AND FOLLOW UP WITH DOCTOR LIKE THEY SAY TOO. IT WILL AVOID A LOT OF PAIN! And yes they are pretty comparable to giving birth as far as the pain.

Attack of the church bench!
Jason and I have always said that Kyson was going to be our first child with broken bones or stitches. Kyson has no fear. He is always trying to climb up bookshelves, counters, dressers...etc. So today at church during sacrament meeting he was goofing off. He kept walking across the bench, getting down walking to the other end of the bench, getting back up on the bench and walking across again. Well during the passing of the sacrament he walked towards Jason and took a step off of the bench resulting in him smacking his head on the wood corner of the thing that holds the hymn books. Jason picks him up as he is screaming. I look over and his head is gushing blood. Of course it is quiet so everyone is staring at us as we run out with blood dripping all over Jason's white dress shirt. I run out not even thinking to grab our bags or keys. Luckily my friend Deana came out and went and got the bags for us. At the time we thought for sure he was going to need stitches as bad as it was bleeding, but after we went by Kims house and had her look she said he would be okay and to put a bandaid on it. So we went home and gave him a bath and cleaned out all of the clothes and then gave Kyson some tylenol and let him take a little nap. Thank goodness he seems to be doing okay. I have been watching him closely for any signs of abnormal behavior. I was so freaked out though. I have never seen a head injury like that and I don't do well with blood anyway. So here are a few pictures that we took of Jason and Kyson when we got home before clean up started.
This picture shows the back of his shirt however when you took the shirt off it was drenched on the inside. It was puddling up at his neck. Sick I know.
Daddy looks like he was just in a war of some sort. He even has it on his face. Gross. We are sure glad that Kyson is okay though.

4th and 4th Tag
I got tagged by my friend Erin. I have been tagged before and never got around to doing it. Due to the lack of blogging the last month I figured I would go for it this time. So here is my 4th picture in my 4th photo folder. It is a picture of my cute niece Brianna at the Breaking Dawn release party in August. We had so much fun and I am glad I was able to take her.
I tag Niki, Melissa Beagley, Brittany, April and anyone else who wants to do it!

Happy 30th Birthday Kacy
Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, aunt, neighbor, road raging driver on I-15, etc, Kacy Lynn Lourenco Plott, passed peacefully from her 20s into her 30s on February 15th. She was remembered in a surprise party (spoiled a few days prior by her sometimes annoying but always loving husband Jason) on Friday the 13th. Many long time friends, co-workers, family members and neighbors attended the festivities. Featured guest was Bertha the Birthday Fairy, who reminisced about memories from their days growing up together in Orem. Kacy then honored everyone with some songs on Karaoke, and even convinced her tone deaf husband to sing a duet with her and then a solo. Jason wishes to apologize to everyone for the bad memories they may have from witnessing this, however he is not liable for any emotional damages incurred.
A great time was had by all. We look forward to many more years and memories with Kacy, she just may not be able to remember them all now that old age is setting in :)
Thanks to everyone who showed up or sent birthday greetings to Kacy. Sorry honey that I spoiled the surprise.
Here's some pictures from the night as well as videos of Bertha the Birthday Fairy and Karaoke.

Harlem Globetrotters

I (Jason) am not a huge basketball fan, however I have memories of going to the Harlem Globetrotters when I was a little boy with my Grandma Plott. 3 years ago I was able to take Dawson to see the "Silly Basketball Players" as he still remembers them. Well I had won a 4 pack of tickets from KFAN 1320AM, and since Kacy was a party pooper and didn't want to go, Dawson was able to bring his cousin Austin. Kennidee was more interested in the popcorn and climbing to the top of the arena (as if our seats weren't already nosebleed seats)... Kennidee also showed that she is just like her mom... she can strike up a conversation with ANYONE. She wandered down to the bottom of the section and was having a conversation with the usher lady, then she noticed a "grandpa" and she sat by him and talked to him for a little bit.
The show is really almost the exact same as I remember it when I was little, but it was fun seeing the kids enjoy the Globetrotters antics. Dawson and Austin were cracking up when one of the players "farted" while playing Globetrotter football, and they were really laughing their heads off when one of the players kissed a guy in the crowd on the lips.
We had a fun night seeing the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters once again defeat the Washington Generals!

Hinder Concert
This last weekend I was able to go down to St. George and see Hinder in concert. I was so excited to spend a few days with Kori. Kennidee and I left on Thursday to go down. We had lots of fun shopping, going to dinner, dying hair and going to the concert. I really like Hinder however since I always buy edited CD's I did not realize how much swearing is in their music and not only that but when they would just talk to the crowd they swore soooo much. I had alot of fun with Kori and her friend Lisa however I do think that I would not be purchasing tickets to their concert again anytime soon.Kori and Me at the concert!

Kyson's Big Boy Bed
We decided that it was time to move Kyson into a big boy bed. He has been freaking out in his crib the last little while. He hasn't really tried to climb out yet but we decided that he would be okay with a bed now. So Jason and I went and picked out a cute bed and dresser for him and a week later it was delivered. His first night he wasn't too sure about the whole thing but after he fell asleep he did okay. He has since fallen out only twice. He goes to bed really good and goes down really good for his naps as well. He won't get off the bed when he wakes up. He just yells for Mom! I can't believe how fast he is growing up.Kyson checking out his new bed

Mickey and Friends Live
A few months ago I purchased tickets to take Kyson and Kennidee to Mickey and friends. Due to an accident we got there late. It was probably good cause I really don't think Kyson would have lasted for the whole time. But the kids did enjoy what they saw. We took trax downtown and Kyson thought that was really cool to watch out the window. Our seats were floor seats but the way the stage was set up made it a little difficult to see the whole stage. It was still fun though.

Family Fun Night!
So we decided for family night we were going to take the kids to classic skating. My friend had been taking her kids and kept talking about how fun it was. Our friends Mo and Ray came with their kids as well. The best part about it was that the kids can take their scooters. I had not been skating in forever so I was a little nervous. But the kids had a blast. We are definitely taking them again sometime.
